Hi everyone! Blue Frog would like to introduce you to our Marketing Coordinator, Tyler Scott. Tyler has been with Blue Frog since June of 2013. He manages multiple social media accounts for our social media customers, he coordinates the lead generation process for our inbound marketing customers, and anything else that our customers need from an online marketing presence.
Q. Tyler, give us your life story in 60 seconds.
A. I was born and raised in Des Moines, IA. When I wasn't in school, I was playing ice hockey (which is a passion of mine) or at Rathbun Lake camping and boating. I played high school hockey for the Des Moines Capitals where I won a State Championship and was the captain of the team my senior year. I graduated from Hoover High School in 2009 and later that Fall I attended Iowa State University. As a Cyclone, I worked 3 years for the Iowa State Athletic Marketing Department where I was the student marketing manager for ISU Volleyball and Softball. I also managed the Iowa State Athletic social media accounts and I was the event coordinator for the first ever Cyclone Fan Fest that was held at Hilton Coliseum. In May of 2013, I received my degree in Marketing. Oh... and I'm an ice hockey intramural champion at Iowa State!
Q. What brought you to Blue Frog after college?
A. The two guys running the show reached out to me about working at Blue Frog. They believed in me and my capabilities in not only helping Blue Frog grow, but the customers too. I loved the direction the Blue Frog was going (it has exceeded my expectations now) and I loved the idea of being back in Des Moines.
Q. What is it about marketing that you love?
A. Marketing is tough! Marketing is a challenge. Everyone is out there doing it, or should be doing it, to grow their business. It's a lot of trial and error and learning from those errors to make the next campaign even better. I like that challenge and I like being able to help businesses grow through marketing efforts. The possibilities to market a business are endless and I enjoy being able to test the waters of all marketing efforts whether that's through social media, online lead generation, email marketing, Facebook ads, etc.
Q. Your current hobbies are?
A. I coach a travel youth ice hockey team and I do a lot of bike riding.
Q. How can you help businesses interested in Blue Frog's services?
A. I have experienced enough social media marketing efforts that I understand what works and what doesn't. When it comes to social media and online marketing, I have the experience to help increase the customer's end goals. Whether that's through more Facebook Page Likes, daily social media engagement, or generating more leads through their website.
Q. What do you enjoy most about Blue Frog?
A. I love working with the group that we have. I love seeing Blue Frog grow everyday and playing a part in that. They say you need to surround yourself around people with similar goals and I believe all of us at Blue Frog have those same goals- helping other businesses while working hard to make Blue Frog better.
Q. Where is your favorite place to vacation?
A. I "vacation" a lot of my weekends to Minnesota and other Midwest cities to coach hockey. I love the State of Hockey. But my favorite place to vacation is probably Phoenix, AZ. That's a fun city! I just wish there was a beach and an ocean there!
Q. On a scale from 0-10, how good of a golfer are you?
Q. Why should business owners contact you for marketing services?
A. I'm a listener and a learner. I want to learn more about their business, what their challenges are and what their end goals are. There is not a "one size fits all" marketing package and I'm able to find the the most effective marketing option for business owners based on budget and needs.
