Background
Bishop Ranch is a 585-acre mixed-use campus in San Ramon, California, operated by Sunset Development Company. Alongside Class A office space, residences, and the retail and dining of City Center Bishop Ranch, it runs a growing portfolio of premium event venues: the Roundhouse Conference Center and the Flourish and Branch lounges, plus restaurants and entertainment venues at City Center that host private groups.
Leadership saw these venues as an untapped revenue stream. To book more of them, Bishop Ranch needed a website that matched the quality of its spaces and made it simple for event planners to find the right room and reach out.
The Challenge
Bishop Ranch's venues were premium, but the path to booking them was not. Information was scattered, the inquiry process was slow, and the website undersold the spaces it was meant to promote.
Fragmented Venue Information
Venue details lived in several places across the site, much of it tucked inside WordPress popups on separate pages. There was no single listing of bookable spaces, and some venues weren't listed at all. Event planners couldn't easily see what was available, let alone compare options side by side.
The site was also organized around internal venue names like Roundhouse and Flourish. Planners don't search that way; they start with group size, layout, and the purpose of their event.
A High-Friction Inquiry Path
Submitting an inquiry took five clicks, and visitors could narrow their needs by only four selections on the page. After submitting a form, planners waited for the conference center team to follow up rather than moving forward on their own timeline.
An Experience Below the Brand
Existing pages didn’t clearly communicate each venue's capacity, amenities, or differentiators. The overall experience fell short of the Bishop Ranch brand quality, undercutting the goal of monetizing its event spaces.
“Previously, the information lived in a couple of different places. And when you try to book, you essentially fill out an inquiry form and then wait for somebody from a conference center team to contact you. Everything’s getting done, but our CEO wants to capitalize on monetizing these spaces more, and a big issue is that they just aren’t well marketed and the user experience isn’t great to book them.”
Jackie Sotelo | Bishop Ranch Director of Brand and Communications
Bishop Ranch’s CEO wanted every space unified into one easy-to-navigate, on-brand experience where prospective customers could discover, evaluate, and book venues quickly.
The Solution
Blue Frog rebuilt the Bishop Ranch venue experience on HubSpot Content Hub, consolidating every space into one centralized, conversion-focused environment. Rather than replace Tripleseat, which handles Bishop Ranch’s reservations and payment processing, Blue Frog designed the new site to move planners to that step faster.
A User-Centered Plan on a Scalable Platform
Blue Frog recommended organizing the venue spaces around what planners are looking for, not how venues are organized internally at Bishop Ranch. Blue Frog also recommended building the experience on Content Hub, rather than their existing WordPress CMS, because HubSpot could power a structured, filterable directory natively that allows for scalable features like dynamic space recommendations later.
Map-Driven Venue Discovery
The new venues page opens on an aerial view of the entire campus with each venue pinned in place. Clicking a pin opens a modal with a photo gallery, a short description, and the featured spaces at that location. This enables planners to understand where each venue sits before digging into details.

Blog Functionality, Reimagined as a Venue Directory
To give every unique space a home without a custom database, Blue Frog repurposed HubSpot’s blog tools in a non-traditional way.
Each of the 51 event spaces, from boardrooms and auditoriums to private dining rooms and group activities, is a post built from one standardized template, and post tags power the listing page’s filters for Venue, Occupancy, Space Type, and Configuration.
Spaces appear as cards with images and key details, and results narrow in real time, much like a travel booking site. Because filtering comes out of the box with Blogs, the directory is easy to maintain and scalable as they grow their offerings.
For the Bishop Ranch team, adding a new space is as easy as publishing a post: pick the template, add the content, apply tags, and it appears in the filtered directory automatically.

Listing Page Filter Functionality
A Search-Ready Page for Every Space
Every venue space has its own URL, giving each one a chance to rank for event-related searches. Every space also carries schema markup built from a structured data model that maps the whole venue ecosystem: Bishop Ranch at the top, its four destinations (Roundhouse, City Center, Flourish, and The Branch) beneath it, and each room, restaurant, or activity linked to its parent. Schema is generated from the same fields that power the filters, so page content and markup stay in sync without developer help.

Schema Markup Strategy & Implementation
A Two-Click Booking Path
Conversion-focused calls-to-action sit on every venue page and lead directly into the booking process. The path from interest to inquiry dropped from five clicks to two clicks, and bypasses the need to wait for someone to reply to a form submission.

The Results
Since launch, Bishop Ranch’s venue site has become a single, self-serve front door for event planners, and a tool the marketing team can grow on its own.
A 60% Shorter Path to Booking
Cutting the inquiry path from five clicks to two removed most of the friction between discovery and action. Planners can now find a space, review it, and book directly in a fraction of the steps and time.
Every Venue Accounted For
51 venue spaces that were previously scattered across multiple websites, or missing entirely, now live in one filterable directory. Planners can compare every space by venue, occupancy, type, and configuration without leaving the page.
Increased Organic Search Growth
With a dedicated, schema-marked page for every space, the venue site began climbing search results within weeks. Before September 2026, none of its keywords ranked in Google's top three. By October, four did, and the number of keywords ranking on the first two pages tripled.
| Month | Top 3 | Top 4-10 | Top 11-20 | Total | Traffic |
| August 2026 | 0 | 3 | 4 | 7 | 2 |
| September 2026 | 3 | 4 | 9 | 16 | 302 |
| October 2026 | 4 | 6 | 11 | 21 | 196 |
Estimated organic traffic to the venue pages grew from just 2 visits in August to 302 in September. The venue site now ranks #1 for "Roundhouse Market and Conference Center" and #2 for "The LOT Bishop Ranch." It's also breaking into non-branded, high-intent searches, ranking #7 for "San Ramon event space" and #10 for "conference rooms San Ramon."
Marketing Team Autonomy
Because each space is built from a standard, branded template, the Bishop Ranch team can add or update a venue in minutes without developer support.
“The venues page has brought all of our event spaces together in one easy-to-navigate place. We were happy to use HubSpot’s blogging capabilities to customize the page to our exact liking, with a flexible design, tagging and easy content updates. By giving visitors the most pertinent information upfront, it saves our team time and makes the booking process faster and easier for everyone. It will continue to serve as a central resource for our community, taking the headaches out of renting an event space."
Jackie Sotelo | Bishop Ranch Director of Brand and Communications
The redesign turned a scattered set of pages into a revenue-focused marketing asset. Planners now get a polished, on-brand experience that guides them from discovery to booking in two clicks, supporting leadership’s goal of monetizing more of the Bishop Ranch venue portfolio.
Just as important, the Content Hub framework scales with the business. New venues, seasonal promotions, and campaigns can launch from the same templates, so the site grows alongside the portfolio without another redesign.
AI Impact: Built for AEO
More event planners now start their search by asking an AI assistant for venue recommendations. The Bishop Ranch site was built so those tools can find and describe each space accurately.
- Structured data on every page: Schema markup on all 51 spaces defines how Bishop Ranch, its four destinations, and each space relate, so AI tools can tell a meeting room from a restaurant or an activity and know where each one sits.
- One space, one URL: Dedicated pages give AI tools a single, authoritative source to cite for each venue space rather than scattered popups.
- Consistent, tagged content: A standard template and tags for venue, occupancy, space type, and configuration create a clean data foundation for future AI tools, such as personalized venue recommendations or AI-assisted inquiry routing.
The Future
With a scalable venue framework in place, Bishop Ranch is focusing next on turning more site visitors into booked events. Next steps include:
- A seamless booking step: Embedding the Tripleseat software into a popup on the website directly so planners can move from inquiry to reservation without leaving the website.
- Conversion rate optimization: Analyzing the inquiry funnel to find and remove remaining drop-off points.
- Expanded SEO and AEO: Growing visibility for venue and event-related searches across the website.
- Marketing automation: Using workflows to nurture venue inquiries that don’t book directly and promote seasonal offers.
With HubSpot at the center of its venue marketing, Bishop Ranch now has a digital experience that can grow as quickly as they are.
