I think it is amazing how many small business owners don’t have websites. Most of the ones that do have a website, they don’t know how to manage the site. I can only imagine how frustrating that must be. You hear this entire amazing buzz about how the internet will drive traffic to your business. So, you set up a website and nothing happens. Why? Most of us don’t do the research to understand why websites cost money. What parts are you paying for? What part can you do yourself? The problem is there are a few online marketers that have made this process look so easy. It’s not. You’re website is a very important part of your business and must be taken care of. You need to be updating the site on regular bases to see any results. WordPress is one of the best ways you can achieve online marketing success. There are plenty of free YouTube videos and resources to teach you how to set up a page. Then you need to blog on a daily bases. Yes, I said it. The four letter word no one wants to hear. B-L-O-G. Yep, you have to BLOG daily if you want to see any results from your page. Think about how many sites Google reads to create the searches we all know and love. If you are blogging daily, you’re competitors can get the upper hand.

Here are three tips to make this process easier.

  • Repurpose your content. You don’t need to write something epic everyday about your industry. You can reuse your content and fluff it up a bit each time.
  • Ask others to be guest bloggers.
  • Assign your staff a few posts each month or outsource some of your posts.

Your blog doesn’t have to be the end of you. Think of it as the beginning. After some practice you can easily sit down and write about what is on you mind in the matter of minutes. Think simple, easy and fast.
